Ryaboshapka: Employees of Prosecutor’s Office will be updated until Sept 2020

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka said he expects to update the entire staff of the Prosecutor’s Office by September 2020.

“We completed the reform at the Office of the Prosecutor General. The recertification of all prosecutors in Ukraine will be completed until September 2020, and this about, in general, 7,500 prosecutors, which is literally a huge number. And in September we plan to completely update the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office,” the prosecutor general said.

Ryaboshapka also added that in parallel with the recertification, additional recruitment for prosecutors will be carried out both in the Office of the Prosecutor General and in regional and district prosecutors, 112 Ukraine reports.

“The prosecutor’s office must be effective; it must fully work out the resources that are invested in the prosecutor’s bodies. The new prosecutor’s office should focus on the needs of society so that those who are truly guilty are punished. One of our priorities is to ensure that the proportion of people who trust the prosecutor’s bodies increases significantly,” the prosecutor general said.
