Since the beginning of hostilities in Donbas, almost 900 Ukrainian military have died in the result of suicides and premeditated murders, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine, Anatoly Matios, reported.
«After analyzing all non-combat irretrievable losses for the entire period of hostilities from 2014 to 2018, we were faced with terrible statistics: nearly 900 Ukrainian military have died as a result of suicides and premeditated murders. This is a terrible losses, it is almost two battalions of the Armed Forces,» – said the Chief Military Prosecutor.
According to Matios, the reasons for this horrible situation is post-traumatic disorders, since «the human psyche does not cope with the consequences of the war and with the prerequisites that lead to an imbalance in the perception of reality.»
«There are officially 300 psychologists with the appropriate education in the army. But it is a miser since almost 400 thousand soldiers serve in the Army for now. Both military psychiatry and military psychology as a tool for overcoming post-traumatic disorders are now in embryo stage,» – the 112 Ukraine news agency quotes Chief Military Prosecutor as saying.
