In the Zhytomyr oblast, metal plates were stolen from the territory of a military airfield.

“In the course of the investigation, it was established that two civilians had stolen airfield cover plates from the territory of the military unit for two days, in total, more than 100 metal plates had been stolen,” correspondent UNN received a comment from Deputy Military Prosecutor of the Zhytomyr Garrison, Major of Justice Oleksiy Rihliuk.

The attackers were found, and the stolen property was returned to the airfield. The military prosecutor’s office noted that one of the reasons for the commission of this crime is the careless attitude to their duties of patrol day service and their direct leadership, which did not ensure the proper protection of the strategically important object.
It should be noted that the servicemen’s guilt was proved in court, and six servicemen-patrolmen were administratively punished in the form of arrest with content in the guardhouse.

The duty of the military unit and his assistant imposed a penalty in the form of a fine in the amount of 145 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, which is 2465 UAH. Two more admin protocols are currently pending in court.
