The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is considering the possibility of summoning the fifth president of Ukraine, the leader of European Solidarity Petro Poroshenko, for interrogation as a witness, by force. This was announced by the head of the investigative department of the central office of the SBI, Oleg Koretsky.
According to the SBI representative, Poroshenko was summoned in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code.
“He was notified in accordance with Procedure Code. Yesterday, when he appeared without warning and without a call to the SBI, he was also informed of the need to appear for interrogation as a witness at 10:30 a.m. today. However, he did not appear for questioning without good reason,” Koretsky said.
Now, investigators are preparing materials to summon Poroshenko for interrogation as a witness, by force.
At the same time, the lawyer of the fifth president of Ukraine, Igor Golovan, assured that Poroshenko has not received a summons for interrogation on January 21.
