The founder of the Virgin Group, Richard Branson, said that the Virgin Orbit solution involves launching of light vehicles LaucnOne from a modified Boeing 747 aircraft, called Cosmic Girl, and will allow new satellites to be output on the orbit instead of lost one during the day. This was informed by CNBC.
“If US governmental satellites got lost in any conflict in the future, God forbid, Virgin Orbit is about the only company among few others enterprises that could replace them in 24 hours,” said Branson.
According to the billionaire, the company does not need a cosmodrome, so it will be able to launch vehicles “on request” practically from different points of the Earth.
