Employees of the SBU’s counter-intelligence department had revealed the facts of embezzlement in the defense sector in the amount of almost USD 6.8 million.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
As it became known, the main military prosecutor’s office provides procedural guidance in a criminal case upon seizing funds in the amount of USD 6,739,213, when a foreign company concludes a economic contract with one of the enterprises, which is part of the Ukroboronprom concern, for the delivery of an early warning system to the State Border Service.
Criminal proceeding has been registered basing on the SBU’s materials.
“The prosecutors of the main military prosecutor’s office, in cooperation with the SBU’s counterintelligence department and the participation of the Special Operations Center “A” employees, have conducted searches in the offices of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Border Service, the State Fiscal Service and the SpecTechnoExport, aimed at the seizure of original documents and other things and objects that have evidentiary value in criminal proceedings,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
