The military counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have fixed repeated recruitment attempts of close relatives of Ukrainian military personnel made by representatives of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and the «LNR / DNR» Security services. This is reported by the press service of the SBU.
The source reports that the wives of three Ukrainian Armed Forces officers were recruited during their stay with parents in Russia and in the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.
«Women were subjected to psychological pressure, they were threatened with a ban on entry and exit, jail, and harassment of their parents. As a result, they provided written confidential consent on cooperation, with the election of pseudonyms,» the message says.
The report notes that counterintelligence stopped the engagement into the illegal activities citizens of Ukraine. After returning to the Ukrainian territory, women agreed to cooperate with the investigation and give evidence about their recruitment and the tasks they have received.
As The Journalist reported, the special services of the Republic of Belarus were trying to recruit resident of the Chernihiv Oblast.
