SBU: Ukrainian captives are tortured by Russian special services officers

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) identified many Russians who has tortured Ukrainian hostages.

This was stated by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Grytsak at a joint briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin on the crimes conducted by the Russian Federation.

According to Grytsak, SBU has evidence and information about torture against Ukrainians that were committed in the territory of Russia, «112 Ukraine» reported.

In particular, Ukrainian soldiers and officers who were illegally exported to the Russian Federation from Donbas and physically tortured, subjected to cruel interrogations by representatives of Russian special services.

«We have a lot of documented facts on tortures took place on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to this data, Ukrainian captives were transported to Russia, and under the leadership of the secret services (FSB), were brutally tortured and interrogated, then returned back to Donbas», – Vasyl Grytsak stated.

«SBU identified many persons who tortured Ukrainian servicemen, and I am convinced Ukraine will be able to bring them to criminal liability. We know call signs of some of them», – said Grytsak.

As «The Journalist» reported, the head of the SBU has provided Volcker testimony of Ukrainian fighters on the tortures of militants in Donbas.
