French scientists observed atmospheric microplastic deposition in a remote mountain catchment (French Pyrenees) and found that its air has almost the same microplastic content as the Paris, Nature Geoscience reported.

Experts note that microplastic fibers and plastic film fragments, which are not typical for such places, were found in samples from a sparsely populated part of the Pyrenean ridge.

Scientists have concluded that plastic particles move not only via water, but also via the air.

As The Journalist reported, the European Parliament continues its fight to end plastic pollution in Europe.
