Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov has received a special award from the Polish Film Academy in Warsaw – an Eagle for Courage and Invincibility, Ukrinform reported.
The award was presented by President of the Polish Film Academy Dariusz Jabłoński. Sentsov, in turn, thanked for the award, noting that freedom is the greatest value on earth, and to own it, you must be prepared to pay all that you have.
Film director Agnieszka Holland noted that Sentsov can continue to count on the support of the Polish Film Community.
In turn, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchitsa thanked the filmmakers of this country for their support:
“Your help in spreading of information through the whole world has helped us a lot in negotiations and pressure we put [on Russia-ed.], which, as it turns out, was productive and helped us to release Oleh. This indicates that only together, in joint efforts, we can succeed.”
As The Journalist reported, Oleh Sentsov to visit European Parliament on Nov 25.
