The Governor of the US state of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, has declared November as the month of the memory of the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933.

This is stated by the Ukrainian Embassy in the US on its Facebook.

«North Dakota on behalf of the Governor Doug Burgum has officially joined in commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine,» the statement said.

In particular, the state has officially declared November 2018 as the month of memory of the victims of the tragedy of Ukrainian people. In addition, the embassy has published a copy of the Governor’s proclamation.

Mr Burgum noted, that the memory of the victims of the Holodomor is commemorating in order do not forget this tragedy and in order it will never happen again.
