The Polish Sejm (lower house) urged Russia to free Ukrainian political prisoners, such as illegally convicted Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Poland reported this on Facebook.

«The Polish Sejm passed a resolution calling on the Russian Federation to release Ukrainian political prisoners, including the film director Oleg Sentsov and the Crimean activist Kolchenko. The document notes that millions of representatives of the democratic world expect this», – the message stated.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has expressed gratitude to the Polish Sejm.

«I am sincerely grateful to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for the adoption of the resolution calling on Russia to release Ukrainian political prisoners, including Oleg Sentsov. With such partners as Poland, we are stronger and united in protecting the values and lives of innocent people», – the message said.

As «The Journalist» reported, Ukrainian ombudsperson was not allowed to enter the Russian colony to meet Sentsov.
