The Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the meeting in Istanbul (Turkey), which lasts for the third day, has made two important decisions for Ukraine.

According to the press secretary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP), Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nezhin, Eustratius (Zorya), the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate has granted the appeal of the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP), Filaret.

«The information on the two expected decisions of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was received from several sources.

  1. On the satisfaction of the appeal of Patriarch Filaret.
  2. On the recognition of the illegal annexation of the Kyiv Metropolis in 1686. We are waiting for official confirmation,» – said Archbishop Eustratius.
