Vietnam’s President dies at 61

This morning, on September 21, Vietnam’s President, Tran Dai Quang, died after a serious illness at a military hospital in Hanoi at 61.

According to Reuters, prior to the appointment to the post of Head of State, Mr Tran was the Minister of Public Security in 2011-2016, and also a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Central Television of Vietnam does not report any other details about the death of the president.

It is noted that Vietnam has no paramount ruler and is officially headed by the President, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Communist Party. The post of president is purely ceremonial.

As The Journalist reported, the «Alf»series writer died at 67.
