The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain has signed a contract for purchasing 17 US F-35B fighter jets. This is reported by the Defense Ministry on its website.
«The 17 new F-35B jets will be delivered between 2020 and 2022,» the message says.
It is noted that the United Kingdom has pledged to purchase 138 aircraft in total during the entire program. Seventeen ordered aircraft is the part of a USD 6 billion contract on assembling 255 aircraft for the F-35 enterprise.
As The Journalist reported, Italy decided not to buy US F-35 fighters.
