5% of citizens of Austria own 43.1% of national wealth assets, according to the Central Bank and the Austrian Chamber of Labor.

According to Matthias Schnetzer, an expert of the Workers’ Chamber, Austria is one of the most unfair countries in the Eurozone in matters of wealth distribution.

It is known that 1% of the richest Austrians account for 22.6% of the total country’s net assets.

20% of the richest citizens of Austria have at their disposal 72.8% out of this volume, Ukrinform reports. At the same time, only 3.6% of national assets account for 50% of poor Austrians.

The inequality is caused due to inheritance most of the time, which is key factor for 38 of the 50 richest Austrians.
