A possible head of the future Servant of the People faction in the new parliament, David Arahamia, said that 10-15% of the party’s deputies (majority system) do not want to abolish parliamentary immunity.
To Arahamia, today some individuals, in particular businessmen, were for MPs precisely to obtain parliamentary immunity, so among future party’s deputies are those who are against its cancellation.
“There are about 15% of the deputies (majority system). There are much fewer such among the “listed deputies”. And the majority say: “I am the majority, this is my district, my people voted for me, why should I be accountable?” I think we’ll just work with it. Community support is very important for us here,” Arahamia said in an interview with Novoe Vremya.
Speaking about candidates from the party who have the “pro-Russian” or “anti-Maydan” views, a possible head of the faction noted that he has a world outlook conflict with them, and these are mainly MPs (majority system).
“The pro-Russian vector is not influential at all. My rating is 1%, and possibly 2%. And it’s conditionally pro-Russian – it’s not people who say that we need to go to Russia, but say “that it’s not so simple, we need to understand […]”,” Arahamia said.
