EU imposes sanctions against another six Russian companies over Crimean Bridge construction

The Council of the European Union introduced sanctions against six companies involved in the illegal construction of Kerch bridge annexed Crimea.

This is stated on the website of the Council of the European Union.

«The Council of the European Union has added to the sanctions list six companies, who are subject to restrictive measures because of actions, which undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. They are included to the list due to participation in the construction of the Kerch Bridge, which connects Russia with the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula,» – the report said.

In this regard, it is said that restrictive measures includes freezing of assets of these six companies in the EU. At the same time, European companies and EU individuals cannot do business with these companies and provide them with any funds.

The EU Official Journal reports, that sanctions are imposed on AO «Institute Giprostroymost — Saint-Petersburg», PJSC Mostotrest, JSC Zaliv Shipyard, Stroygazmontazh Corporation (SGM Group), Stroygazmontazh Most and CJSC VAD. Sanctions to take effect on July 31, 2018.

As The Journalist reported, Canada does not recognize annexation of Crimea and calls for maintaining pressure on Russia.
