SpaceX has successfully completed engines tests of its first Crew Dragon passenger spacecraft. This was reported on the company’s Twitter.
At this stage, the company move on to test flights in the upcoming months. If the tests succeed, SpaceX will be ready to launch people into space using Crew Dragon as early as next year.
Crew Dragon is designed to be delivered into space by Falcon 9 heavy rocket, but if for some reason the rocket crashes in the air, the Crew Dragon’s emergency engines will take it to a safe distance from the rocket and will land it using parachutes.
During the final test two NASA astronauts (Bob Benzi and Doug Hurley) will be send to the ISS, after which SpaceX will be able to deliver station crews on a regular basis.
As The Journalist reported, SpaceX successfully launched 60 satellites in orbit.
