US President Donald Trump intends to return to Jews the real estate taken during the Second World War.
Trump signed the decree that will place pressure on dozens of countries to recover property stolen from Jews survived Holocaust.
Decree requires the State Department to monitor the activities of dozens of European countries on the restoring historical justice towards the Jews. The State Department will also report to the Congress how countries fulfill their obligations to pass laws to help Jews.
The law was approved by The Senate and the House of Representatives and was signed by the President Trump on May 9, reported by Detaly.
The law is intended to facilitate the implementation of the Terezin Declaration, which was approved by 47 countries in Prague in 2009, where the foundations for the restitution of movable and immovable property, insurance and other assets confiscated by the Nazis from Jews were fixed.
The decree was preceded by a campaign of pressure in the US Congress. An anonymous source sent hundreds of emails to members of Congress saying the act was an «anti-Polish» law «written in Tel Aviv».
