The Pentagon will check potential recruits with foreign ties, The Washington Post reported. The US Department of Defense motivated such actions with the potential threat of international terrorism and concerns regarding possible cases of espionage.

"The Department must implement expanded foreign vetting and screening protocols to identify and mitigate the foreign nexus risks," the report said.

According to the innovations, Pentagon will check not only the green cards owners, but also people married to foreigners or having relatives with dual citizenship.
