The United States of America decided to withdraw from the UN Human Rights Council, – said US Ambassador to the United Nation Nikki Haley.
«We take this step because our commitment does not allow us to remain a part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights», – she said.
The US decision was made in response to the Council’s position against Israel and «providing a platform for governments abusing their rights», – Obozrevatel reported.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked President Donald Trump, the US official to the UN Nikki Hailey, as well as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for their courageous decision against the hypocrisy and the lies of the UN Council.
«Instead of engaging in regimes that systematically violate human rights, the UN Council obsessively focuses on Israel, the one genuine democracy in the Middle East», – Netanyahu said.
As «The Journalist» reported, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning Israel for Gaza violence.
