According to the Ukrainian Food Export Board (UFEB) [its analytical department], in eight months of 2018, the United States of America became the leader in the purchasing of Ukrainian chocolate. The second and third positions were taken by Kazakhstan and Belarus with 12.3% and 9% respectively. Another 64.9% of Ukrainian chocolate sweets were purchased by other world countries.
It is known that for eight months of this year amount of exports totals USD 101 million.
In 2017, the main importing countries were Kazakhstan, Belarus and the Republic of Moldova. The total volume of exports of chocolate products amounted to 60.9 thousand tons with a total value of USD 150.1 million.
UFEB analysts have noted that the volume of export of Ukraine’s confectionery products exceeds imports by seven times. It is about 55.1 thousand tons against 7.9 thousand tons.
«Concerning the situation on confectionery products, in eight months of this year [2018] they were exported to the amount of USD 86.1 million. The main countries were Kazakhstan with 13.34% of all exports [the main export items: white chocolate, caramel made of boiled sugar], Belarus with 12.24% [jelly, candy caramel], Poland with 8.28% [white chocolate, lollipops] and other countries accounted for 66.15%,» – the analytical department of the UFEB reported.
