SSU security forces’ assets declarations will remain confidential for security reasons

The assets declarations of the SSU (SBU) employees will remain confidential to the public, said the SSU acting first deputy head Ivan Bakanov.

Bakanov was asked about assets declarations disclosure referring to the SSU leadership, as UNIAN reports.

“It is not an easy matter. By law, I do not have to file a declaration. In case of any changes, I will submit it. I tried to publish my asset declaration, but I was told that intelligence officers deal with enemies every day. In case they disclose their assets declarations to the public, their enemies will get informed about their assets and family members”, the SBU representative said.

At the same time, Bakanov added that he hoped to disclose his declaration.

As it is known, the assets declarations of the SBU employees were classified under the former leadership of the intelligence agency. The representatives of the public tried to force the SSU to disclose at least the declarations of the top management through the court, but failed.

As reported by The Journalist Ivan Bakanov said he was ready to lead SBU.
