Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, believes that the norms of people’s representation in parliament are violated, therefore the number of people’s deputies needs to be reconsidered. He said this in an interview with the LB.ua publication.
“Today the number of deputies is being discussed: 450 is a lot or a little. There are European standards of representation. When the population of Ukraine was 52 million, it was enough, and when we, after the population census, see that population reduces to 30 million – why do we need 450 deputies?” explained Stefanchuk.
As The Journalist reported, Verkhovna Rada will be able to make laws even after the decree on its dissolution.
