During his speech to the US Congress, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the North Atlantic Alliance does not intend to deploy nuclear missiles after the termination of the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles in Europe, European truth reports.

“I continue to urge Russia to return to compliance with the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). But, Russia has not made a single step in this direction so far, and time is running out. We do not want a new arms race, we do not want a new cold war, but we should not be naive,” Stoltenberg said.

Stoltenberg said that NATO will weigh its every step, and it is necessary to prepare for a world where the INF Treaty will not work.

“NATO has no intention of deploying land-based nuclear missiles in Europe. But NATO will always take the necessary steps to provide credible and effective deterrence,” the Secretary General said.

As The Journalist reported, NATO consider package of measures against Russia in Black Sea.
