The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has reduced to one month the maximum period of arrears in housing and utility payments for the appointment of subsidies.

This is stated in the resolution adopted at the government meeting, published on the government portal.

The Cabinet of Ministers changed a number of paragraphs of the Regulations on the procedure for the allocation of housing subsidies. The previous edition stated that the subsidy is not assigned if the term of overdue debts for the payment of utility bills exceeds two months.

“A housing subsidy is not assigned (including for the next period) if the Department of Social Security will receive information on the existence of overdue of the debt for housing and communal services more than a month (at the date of provision of such information). This also applies to the cost of managing an apartment building, the total amount of which exceeds 20 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens on the day of applying for the housing subsidy,” the message said.

At the same time, it is indicated that the corresponding norm does not apply when assigning a subsidy to citizens for the next period in the case when the Ministry of social policy does not provide funding for housing subsidies to such citizens in cash.

As The Journalist reported, Verkhovna Rada backed amendments to Constitution confirming Ukraine’s path toward EU, NATO.
