Obolonsky District Court of Kiev ordered to appoint a new state advocate to a former President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych within the state treason case.
Yesterday,August 1, the Court granted the petition of prosecutors and decided to appoint another free lawyer instead of Viktor Ovsyannikov, UNIAN news agency reported.
In particular, the court’s decision states that «the Center providing free secondary legal aid should appoint a new lawyer to protect the accused Yanukovych without delay, and ensure his attendance at a hearing that will be held on August 16 at 10.00 a.m.»
In addition, the definition notes the need to «ensure the continued participation of the appointed defense counsel, regardless of further participation in the court session of the defenders chosen by the accused person. Invite the appointed defense attorney to begin to proceed with the materials of the case.»
