Shevchenko District Court in Kyiv prolonged the detention of a suspected of preparing a terrorist act and a coup d’etat the head of the «Officers’ Corps» liberation center, Volodymyr Ruban, for another two months without determining the amount of the pledge.

Appropriate solution issued the Shevchenko District Court investigative judge Lydia Shebunyaeva.

Ruban will be in custody until August 23. It should be noted that the term of the current preventive measure in the form of detention should have ended on July 2.
The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that the period of validity of the preventive measure in the form of detention should be extended by two months, since the investigation must obtain the conclusions of a number of additional examinations and interrogate other witnesses in criminal proceedings.
Moreover, Ruban turned to so-called «Ombudsman DNR» to include it in the list on the exchange of hostages, which, according to the prosecutor’s office, may indicate a desire to escape of the suspect for the uncontrollable part of the Donetsk region.
Ruban’s lawyer asserts that the defendant so far has the status of an unsuspecting person, but is a prisoner, and it is advantageous for the Ukrainian authorities to keep him for negotiations on exchanging hostages.

As it was reported by the «Journalist», Iryna Gerashchenko said that the desire of the militants exchanged Ruban, complicates the release of the hostages.
