Supreme Council of Justice elected Volodymyr Govorukha as new chairman

On April 16, the Supreme Council of Justice of Ukraine elected Volodymyr Govorukha as new chairman.

The relevant protocol of the counting commission was approved by the members of the Supreme Court of Justice at a meeting of the council.

According to the counting commission, 17 out of 19 members of the Supreme Council of Justice, who participated in the secret ballot, backed Volodymyr Govorukha’s candidacy.

The Supreme Council of Justice terminated the powers of the Chairman of the Supreme Court, Ihor Benedisyuk, who filed the relevant application.

Note that Benedisyuk was elected as chairman of the Supreme Council on May 30, 2017.
