Swedish Prosecutor’s Office requested an arrest warrant for Assange

Swedish prosecutor’s office, represented by Deputy District Chief Prosecutor Eva-Marie Persson, requested a warrant for the arrest of Julian Assange in a case on suspicion of rape. This informs the Daily Mail.

“I ask the district court to arrest Assange in his absence on suspicion of rape. If the court decides to arrest him, I will proceed with the issuance of a European arrest warrant asking him to extradite him to Sweden,” said Persson.

According to Persson, since Assange faces extradition at the request of the United States, the UK authorities will decide in order of priority.
