Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran during the Hour of Questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada has said that currently there are no signs of direct preparation for active hostilities by the Russian occupation forces near the administrative border of the Kherson region with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
“To date, there are no signs of direct preparation for active hostilities by the Russian occupation forces near the administrative border of the Kherson region with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. No signs of concentration of the strike groups on the peninsula observed,” the Minister of Defense noted.
According to Taran, taking into account the unpredictability of decisions made primarily by the political leadership of the Russian Federation and the military-political leadership of the Russian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are taking certain measures to prevent and provide appropriate rebuff to possible actions by the RF Armed Forces.
“We are strengthening reconnaissance measures, rotate troops, clarified tasks, organize close cooperation with the National Guard, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service. Considering the above, military units, units of the Armed Forces, which carry out tasks as part of the Joint Forces operation and along the administrative border of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, are ready to adequately respond to existing challenges and threats along the state border of Ukraine,” the Minister of Defense emphasized.
