More than 10,000 people were evacuated after a powerful explosion rocked a chemical plant Formosa Chemical and Fiber Corp.
Fire fighters and police arrived at the scene about 20 minutes after receiving an explosion report.
“More than 10,000 villagers had to be evacuated after an explosion rocked a chemical plant in an industrial zone in Mailiao township, Yunlin county in central-southern part of the country,” the message said.
It is known that the explosion was of such power that it shattered glass in nearby buildings.
According to RBC-Ukraine, a gas leak may be the main reason for an explosion at a chemical plant. No data about victims or wounded have been reported.
