President of the United States Donald Trump issued a decree in order to ensure the full implementation of imposed sanctions against legal entities and individuals from the Russian Federation.
This is stated in the letter of the US President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President of the Senate, published on the website of the White House.
The letter noted that the US President, with the aim of the fulfillment of the law on economic powers in the case of an emergency international situation, issued an executive decree for implementing additional steps on previously imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation for violating Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the same time, it is noted that in accordance with the law «On Countering America’s Opponents through Sanctions» and the Law «on Supporting Freedom of Ukraine», it is envisaged the imposition of certain sanctions against the Russian Federation.
At the same time, it is said that the executive decree issued by Trump «will facilitate the further implementation of these sanctions» by providing additional powers to the Secretary of the Treasury (the Minister of Finance) in order to make certain steps with respect to these sanctions.
As The Journalist reported, President of Ukraine and the Secretary of State for Defense of Great Britain discussed strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
