US President Donald Trump once again stated that his predecessor Barack Obama was responsible for the occupation of the Crimean Peninsula by the Russian Federation.
Trump, at the press conference in Washington, stressed that he had a very good meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place on June 16 in Helsinki. At this meeting, much attention was paid to the discussion of security issues, and in particular the situation in Syria and Ukraine.
«The fact that President Obama allowed a very large part of Ukraine to be taken by Russia,» Trump said.
At the same time, journalists clarified that the Crimea was annexed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, UNIAN reported.
«That was President Obama’s regime. That was during President Obama. Right? I did not do this. It was President Obama that allowed it to happen. It has nothing to do with me,»Trump said.
