Deputy Director of the European business Association Svetlana Mikhailovskaya said that Carlsberg Ukraine, Coca-Cola Ukraine and PepsiCo are stopping production in Ukraine because of a halt to chemical plant Dniproazot’s work.
Recall that JSC Dniproazot stopped its work on June 15 in connection with unprofitability. The company was an unique producer of liquid chlorine and hydrochloric acid, which are necessary for water purification.
«Carlsberg Ukraine, Coca-Cola Ukraine and PepsiCo are forced to stop production, because of the inability to use chlorine for purification of drinking water. These enterprises cannot have reserves of this substance on their territory due to the security measures,» – Hromadske Radio reports.
Svetlana Mikhailovskaya says that Ukrainian authorities have not reacted to this situation yet.
As «The Journalist» reported, Nikolaev will limit water supplying due to the shortage of chlorine.
