Acting Director of US National Intelligence Joseph Maguire today, on September 26, will speak to lawmakers regarding the administration’s consideration of the informant’s complaint, which led to the start of the investigation.
The investigation may resulted into impeachment of US President Donald Trump.
It is known that the complaint, which contents has not yet been made public, concerns a July 25 telephone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During the phone conversation Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate into the son of the former vice president, Democrat Joe Biden, Hunter, in coordination with the US Secretary of Justice and Trump’s personal lawyer.
According to Radio Liberty, Maguire will testify to the Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives during a public hearing at 9:00 (16:00 Kyiv time). He will then address the Senate Intelligence Committee in closed session at 11:00 (18:00 Kyiv time).
Maguire, who has been in office for less than two months, will speak to lawmakers after refusing to share a complaint with Congress, even though the law requires it.
