Turchynov and Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova discussed cooperation on Transnistria problem

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Moldova Christina Lesnik the bilateral cooperation in the settlement of the issue of Transnistria, the press service of the National Security and Defense Council reported.

Thus, at the meeting parties paid attention to the issue of organizing the international monitoring of the ammunition depot in the village of Kolbasna on Transnistria territory, located 1.5 km far from the Ukrainian border.

According to Turchynov, Russia grossly violated her obligations on exportation of ammunition and weapons from the Russian military base, as well as on «keeping her military contingent there illegally, which is the center of destabilization in the region.»

«We supported and we will support Moldova, with which we have one European integration path,» – Turchynov said and added that Ukraine is ready for active cooperation on the raised issues.

In turn, Mrs Lesnik said that the official Chisinau is interested in further intensification of cooperation with Ukraine, including matters of demilitarization of Transnistria and its further integration into Moldova.
