Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov invited leading international military experts to take part in the reform of the state concern Ukroboronprom.
According to the NSDC press service, Turchinov invited former Commander of the US Army in Europe Ben Hodges and President of the Potomac Foundation Philip Karber, as well as other international experts, to enter the “Ukroboronprom” Supervisory Board, and “after its reforming and the establishment of a central government authority on the issues of defense industry, – to the public council at that authority.”
The meeting also discussed the intensification of military-technical cooperation between the two countries and attraction of investments in the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex.
“We need to accelerate the reform of the defense complex, its development and modernization, because without new technologies, powerful investment resources, we will not be able to effectively counteract the aggressor and produce new-generation weapons,” said Turchinov.
