Turkey discover two natural gas fields in Black Sea

Turkey’s first drilling vessel Fatih reportedly discovered two natural gas fields in the Black Sea, BelTA informs.

“Fatih vessel has been conducting geological exploration in the Black Sea at the Danube-1 site, located near the intersection of the Bulgarian and Romanian maritime borders with the internal waters of Turkey,” the message reads.

Turkish vessel could have discovered natural gas deposits of ‘good quality’ in the Danube-1 section and another deposit off the coast of Turkey near the town of Kirklareli.

Turkey hasn’t yet officialy confirmed this information, but Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intended on August 21 to announce “very good news for the country, which will open a new era for Turkey.”
