President of the European Council Donald Tusk invited President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to take part in events on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership Initiative in Brussels in May.

According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, Poroshenko discussed this during a telephone conversation with Tusk.

“Thanks to our joint efforts, Ukraine and the European Union today are closer than ever in the history of bilateral relations,” Poroshenko stressed.

The President of the European Council highly appreciated the role of President Poroshenko in promoting the European integration agenda of Ukraine and strengthening the pro-Ukrainian international coalition on countering Russian aggression during his presidency.

Tusk welcomed the provision of free and democratic presidential elections by the Ukrainian authorities, which created a new high standard for the electoral process in Eastern Europe.

As The Journalist reported, Chancellor Merkel invited newly elected president of Ukraine Zelensky to Germany.
