Canada at the legislative level may establish clear rules for social networks work. Such a proposal made the Minister for Democratic Institutions of Canada, Karina Gould, during parliamentary hearings, Ukrinform reports.

“Although the networks have made some positive steps to combat the fake pages, … but there is still a lot that can and should be done … I will be grateful for advice on how to reliably regulate the rules of social networks,” Gould said.

At the same time, the politician noted that it is necessary to preserve the level of freedom of speech that social networks provide.
During the hearings, Gould said that she had already had conversations on this issue with the management of Google and Facebook and agreed to meet with representatives of Microsoft.
