Russian investigators questioning four detained Ukrainian sailors

In the Russian Federation, during the last two days of January, Ukrainian sailors, prisoners of war Andriy Aider, Andriy Artemenko, Vasyl Soroka, and Serhiy Chulibu were interrogated, the lawyer Mykola Polozov reported on his page on Facebook.

“During the investigative actions, prisoners of war answered questions within the Article 17 of the Third Geneva Convention of August 12, 1949, “On the Treatment of Prisoners of War”. Wounded prisoners of war additionally answered the questions of lawyers regarding the state of health,” the message says.

The lawyers filed petitions for hospitalization of the wounded prisoners of war in Ukraine or in other neutral country (in accordance with the provisions of the Convention), and conducting a medical examination in medical institutions outside the Federal Penitentiary Service system.
The investigative actions regarding the rest of the Ukrainian sailors’ prisoners of war will be carried out next week.
