U.S. tests intercontinental ballistic missile

The United States has tested the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile was launched from the Vandenberg Air Force base located in California, the press center of the U.S. Air Force Global Strikes Command reports.

During the tests were checked functionality of the technology of returning the striker to the atmosphere. Minuteman III covered approximately 6,760 kilometers and accurately hit a target in the Marshall Islands.

The U.S. Air Force Command also stressed that the conducted launch is not a response or reaction to world events or regional tensions.
