Ukraine and Lithuania coordinated positions on preparation for the Ukraine-EU Summit

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Linas Linkevičius, coordinated their positions in the context of preparations for the Ukraine-EU Summit, the press service of the the head of state.

President expressed his gratitude to Lithuania for the clarification of the position to continue the consolidated international sanctions pressure on Russia with the aim of making progress in the peaceful settlement in the Donbass basing on the Minsk agreements and the full restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
As part of the discussion of the situation in the Donbass, the parties examined the modalities for the deployment of the relevant UN peacekeeping mission there. They also discussed the possibility of providing assistance from Lithuania and other EU member states to support residents of Donbass, who were victims of Russian aggression, the press service said.

«The President coordinated with the Lithuanian side positions in the context of preparations for the Ukraine-EU Summit, as well as participation in events at the NATO summit in Brussels in July this year», the report said.

As the «Journalist» reported Tusk said that the Ukraine-EU summit will be held on July 9th.
