First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv, during a meeting with Vice Premier of the State Council of China Liu He, proposed to start joint consultations on the creation of a free trade zone between the two countries.

«Ukraine has a new free trade agreement with Canada, completed negotiations on free trade with Israel; we are completing negotiations with Turkey. We see the effectiveness of these agreements, therefore I propose to start joint Ukrainian-Chinese consultations on the prerequisites for creating a Ukraine-China free trade zone», Kubiv said.
It is noted that in the first 8 months of 2018, the trade turnover between Ukraine and China amounted to almost $ 6 billion, which is 21% more than in the same period last year.
At the same time in the next 5 years, this figure can be increased to $ 20 billion a year.
