The National Bank predicts a reduction in revenues from the natural gas transit shipments via Ukraine by half after the launch of alternative gas pipelines bypassing the country.

This was reported by the First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kateryna Rozhkova, UNIAN informs.

“The launch of gas pipelines bypassing the country will reduce gas transit shipments. We have taken this into account, namely a reduction of almost by 50%, from 90 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to 50 bcm. Hence, there will be a decrease in revenue,” said the Acting heads of the National Bank.

Rozhkova noted that the revenue from transit totals USD 3 billion per year.

“A reduction in gas transit shipments almost by half will also reduce the revenue by nearly half,” she added.

As The Journalist reported, Govt obliged Naftogaz to ensure installation of gas meters for households at expense of Naftogaz.
