The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made changes to the list of Russian goods prohibited for importation into the territory of Ukraine. Now the list includes almost all vehicles, motorcycles, tractors, trucks, buses and special equipment, Uriadovy Portal reports.
The ban covers not only the Russian brands (Lada, GAZ, UAZ), but also foreign cars produced in the Russian Federation: KIA, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Renault, etc.
The resolution implied the introduction of a 5% special duty on Russian goods from August 1, but for some unknown reason, much more stringent measures have been taken.
We note that the volume of imports of Russian vehicles in Ukraine in 2018 amounted to about USD 50 million, which represents 5% of the Ukrainian car market.
