Ukraine, Belarus agree to strengthen border regime

Ukraine and Belarus agreed to comprehensively strengthen the border regime in order to prevent destabilization of the situation in both countries. In addition, an agreement stipulates for stepping up interaction between border agencies, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Belarus reports.

Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev and Acting Head of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus Petro Vrublevsky were invited to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus for consultation.

The Russian ambassador was asked for information on purposes of stay of the militants of Wagner private military company (PMC). In turn, the Ukrainian ambassador was asked for information that could be used to analyze and assess the reasons for their presence in Belarus.
