The state-owned Iskra Research and Production Complex, which is part of the Ukroboronprom, has developed and manufactured a prototype of a new promising radar station 80K6KS1.

“The main purpose of the station is to identify, tracking and calculating three coordinates of air objects and their speed as part of an anti-aircraft missile system. The 80K6KS1 station was created for combat use as part of the air defense missile defense divisions,” Ukroboronprom said.

The radar station is compatible with existing anti-aircraft missile systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign production, both.

“The key elements of the technological success are solid-state microwave power amplifier based on transmitting devices, the use of digital antenna array technology, the implementation of special radar signal estimation based on new element, and work on highly efficient methods developed at the enterprise. All equipment is deployed on one vehicle of domestic production which increase radar station’s mobility. This allows to deploy and collapse the mobile station in a matter of minutes,” the director of Iskra, Yuriy Pashchenko, said adding that preliminary tests of the prototype have already been successfully completed.

According to him, state tests will be held in the near future.
